::UNDER CONSTRUCTION::

Hey guys!
First of all, if you are reading this message thank you so much for stopping by, I really hope you enjoy these journals posts. I don't know if you have noticed that lately I haven't posted anything, the reason is because I'm taking a break.... no, no, I'm not sitting under a palm tree with a piña colada! Instead, I've been working like a maniac between my full time job and personal projects, and it has been difficult to keep everything going on. But, I have new plans and ideas for next year, so don't worried you will see more from me on this page, with some (good) changes! :)

However, if you miss me that much revisit the old posts from the "ARCHIVE" list or  follow me on my fashion accessories blog THE KEY ITEM, I'm still blogging over there ... in the meantime this page is UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

Until next time!

::STYLED BY INSPIRATION #6::

Doing some research for the birthday brunch menu, I discovered this amazing tumblr called Culinary Porn, every time I scrolled down I found something more delicious, but this image immediately caught my attention. Maybe it was the color palette that kept me intrigue to know what it was, so I started digging and thanks to Google Image I found the original source; it belongs to Pure Vege, a blog dedicated to veggie food. So here it is; a healthy salad as an inspiration for today's style look.

Key words: natural, autumn, easygoing
Color palettedark warm colors, purple, burgundy, brown, military green with a touch of bright yellow

The look: a soft maxi skirt mixed with a tailored blazer, casual but chic perfect for a days of meetings, take out the jacket and you are ready for the happy hour.

::DM'12 - LA MAISON 1888::

We like to party like super stars!

During Dominicana Moda, our national fashion week, I was invited to Brugal's Party - Maison 1888. Hosted by fashion magazine Factoria, fashion blogger The Hippie Nerd, PR Maneger Stefano Cavoli and designer Jacqueline Then

I decided to wear this jazzberry jam dress I designed and custom made a couple of years ago when I was in Fashion School. Also, I needed to add a statement piece to my "minimal" attire; so Ela designed this beautiful masterpiece to complement my outfit which definitely stood out!

Mission accomplish!

BLOG DESIGN

I feel so happy and grateful, everytime I finish a new project;  and this is not an exception. I met Yazmin last year while we were both living in Milan and she told me she had a fashion blog called The Hippie Nerd. After that we've been following each other constantly, I mean... we are dominican and we love fashion = perfect bound!

A few months ago, she needed my services; she wanted to re-styled her blog and that's how this project begun. After a complete research of fonts, ideas and layouts we decided to stay very minimal, sleek design so all her posts can stand out; and little touch of red to emphasis the links and the social media icons. The original template is from Wordpress but I customized the color, fonts, categories, width and other little details according on what she was looking for.
Yesterday, when I showed her the new look she was thrilled... I couldn't ask for anything more!

Thanks for trusting in me, Yaz!

::LOVING THIS WEEK #8::

I'm back with "Loving this Week" series .. have you missed it?

1. A colorful hanging- chair? Where do I sign? One, please!
2. I love art pieces that mix different materials and techniques. I found Sarah Illenberger's artwork .. and I was in awe! I love this piece, a photograph of a fashion editorial mixed with real flowers. Stunning!
3. I'm planning a party! My 25th birthday is just around the corner; I'm looking for decoration ideas: customize message for the silverware I will definitely do it!.
4. Best ediorial so far from this season; photographed by Mark Segal  and styled by Giovanna Battaglia for Vogue Japan November 2012 and is entitled "The Secret Chatter of Golden Monkeys".
5. Who doesn't love those greasy, salty and tasteful potato chips? Aw, it's so difficult to keep up the shape if you eat them a lot, however  I just found 25 healthy alternatives to avoid this tentation. Hurray!
6. This week quote. Challenge yourself everyday.
7. Clean, modern and chic interior idea for a drawer chest. Classic!

Happy friday!

::I WISH::

I wish I could be there right now, drinking piña colada... instead, I'm in my office trying to figure out how to create a iPad App, when I'm actually a fashion designer/stylist! Yes, sometimes it seems like I can do magic. Wish me luck!

::STYLE BY INSPIRATION #5::

Have you ever thought of making popsicles mixed with flowers? Marla Meredith from Family Fresh Cooking made them and there are so lovely! A perfect sweet treat for a baby or bridal shower, I coudn't resist to be inspired by the textures and colors.... and talking about "weddings"; don't you think there has been a lots of weddings this year? Hmm.. think about it while you enjoy my "eternal summer" style look for this week.

Key words: fresh, casual, girly, romantic
Color palette: pop-bright summer colors; pink, orange and green with touches of beige
The look: classic-chic girly outfit, perfect for an afternoon meeting or, as I mention before, a baby or bridal shower.

:: TWENTY-NINE WAYS TO STAY CREATIVE::

Lately, I have been working a lot with too many different projects. I can't complain, I'm grateful for all the good things God have given me in the last couple of months. However, sometimes it's very stressful,  time flies and it seems like I won't be able to finish all my duties and; at the same time, it becomes difficult to keep up with my normal social life. Panic!

I was doing some research, and I found this poster; it works perfectly. I'm going to print it out and paste it on my wall. A reminder/promise that I will  always stay creative.

Happy friday!

::NYFW DIARY - PARTY III::

Aww...This is the last post of NYFW Diary SS'13 (sniff, sniff) So this is how it goes:

I was invited to Nolcha Fashion Week, and let me tell you more about this event: Nolcha is presented during Mercedes Fashion Week, and is a platform for new designer to showcase their collection. Every year, brands from all around the world; Turkey, Peru, Swaziland, Dubai, Thailand, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Los Angeles and the United Kingdom get the chance to present their ideas.

The event was very organized, their PR people were so nice to me (I even got front row seat.. yeay, so a special thanks to them!); it wasn't a big stage where you can have 500 attendees, only the right people in the fashion industry and lots of major celebrities like: Katrina Bowden (30 Rock), Bryan Greenberg (HBO's How To Make It In America), Eric Benet (Recording Artist), Gary Forbes (Houston Rockets), Stephane Lasme (Boston Celtics), Mya (Recording Artist), Zuzanna Szadkowksi (Gossip Girl) and more. Big plus! because right now that's what a new designer needs, a good crowd that would like to invest in their ideas.

My two favorite shows were: Angelys Balek and Gulschachereli. The first designer was colorful and fun, simple and clean silhouettes but with an amazing cut-out laser technique. Wonderful detail. The second one played a lot with the construction and deconstruction of the forms with minimal silhouettes. Feminine dresses and lots of pleats details. There was a neutral palette of color for almost the entire collection (beige, white, black), and quick touches of aquamarine on 2-3 garments. A very nice surprise!

Last but not least, an special page: My adventures with Sager from Glint Trends. We had so much fun; from partied with super models at the Tribeca Hotel to out private ride to Lincoln Center , thanks to The Cut. Priceless. (I stole the pictures from Sager's instagram .. follow her @sagpd)

As always, New York you never disappoint me. See you next fashion week! Xoxo

::AUTUMN LIGHT::

Are you ready for a change of season? Here in DR, we have a big dilema when with talk about that: "New season, is that really exists?" Well, maybe the temperature doesn't get lower than 22C degrees, and the trees do not start loosing yellow leaves and it doesn't get dark at 4:30 pm ... However, lately I have noticed some changes; last week around 5 - 6 pm there was a "strange" light coming through my window, first I though it was the sunset light and I ran like crazy to see if I could get a cool picture to instagram the moment (btw, are you following me? .. I'm new with this so follow me!) but not, the sky was the same, still the atmosphere was kind of sepia; two days later I was driving and it happened again. I was so upset I couldn't capture it with a instant-picture that I decided to re-create it, and this is how this outfit post was born.
I used 3 light layers to create this look: a pleated dress, a laced blouse and a cut-out blazer; added a studded bracelet to create a cool contrast.

Thanks God, it's friday! Wish you all a happy, happy weekend!

::NYFW DIARY - PART II ::

This is PART II of a 3 series of photos from NYFW. Last time, I showed my outfits and some of the things I did in New York. But while I was in the city, I had some work to do, like: street -style photos for The Key Item (check them out HERE) and I assisted photographer Yuri Catania (aka my Boss!) during a photo-shooting for G&B Negozionline featuring the majors fashion brands and the collaboration of Chiara Ferragni (check it out HERE)

Also, I went to MM6 Maison Margiela's presentation which was perfect for a urban - edgy city girl; and then I was invited to Reddoll by Tatyana Merenyu's presentation that was very sweet and sophisticated. Both shows were amazing,  clean with beautiful details. Just how I like it!
