::MORE SUMMER TRENDS::

Officially, the summer has started!

Last week, my friend Sager from Glint-Trends, Looks, Shine Blog  posted that right now it was kind of hard to do cool-hunting beacuse everyone is looking the same. I couldn't agree more, unfortunately that is why we called a "trend" because you see it everywhere. I wanted to show you 4 more summer trends that I haven't seen them that much and can be pretty cool to try them out:

1. Total nude: Change your color palette. I know bright colors are so "in" and don't get me wrong, I LOVE color, but you can try a total monochromatic look, from head to toe. I chose nude but it can be any color, it would look refreshing!.

2. Mixed Prints: My favorite! I have been following this trend for a while, and for summer it's always a perfect catch. The best way to accomplish this look, it's to pick two prints that have the same tones of color. It will have an optical effect making the two patterns look alike.

3. Show your Abs: Ok, so to get this look the number one rule is: Zero fat food and a lot of exercises! After that, pick a high waisted pants or skirt with a cropped top, you don't need to show your whole belly just a little bit of skin and the work is done. This look can be very "lady like" too, remember this post!?

4. Girly with sneakers: This trend is perfect for a day full of errands, when you need to be comfortable and look cute as well. Get a girly outfit and paired it with a high heel sneaker, they are so trendy right now. Then, if you need to go out after work, change the sporty shoes for a wedged sandals and you are ready to go!

However you have to be careful, and choose trends that really define you and try to make them look "different" so it doesn't look like we all part of a cult. 

A final tip: Mix Trends! For example: Neon and tribal, sporty with prints or monochromatic patterns... just remember to be creative and have fun!

::RESORT 2013: PRINTS::

Hello Monday! 

A new week ahead of us. Have you noticed something new? I made some little changes on the blog during these last couple of days. I decided I would like to have something more minimal and clean so my posts will be more graphic. The contents will be the same, I only will try to improve the way I present it to you.  

Back to the fashion, have you seen the Resort collections for 2013? For me, these collections are like a sneak peak for the - upcoming - Spring collections that will be showed in September/October at Fashion Week. I noticed there will be a lot of prints; maxi-prints, all-over prints, mix&match prints, animal prints, graphic prints ... and... CAMOUFLAGE?

 Oh yes, indeed! Be prepared!

::The Queen Of Color Blocking::

Elisa Nalin is, definitely, the queen of color blocking! 

She has the ability to create new color combinations and always look stunning!

To do color blocking, I recommend to choose "basic" pieces. The WOW effect will be in the combination of hues, so your items should have a clean and simple silhouette.

I have created three different looks, therefore you can have an idea... it's pretty easy and fun, give it a try!

Be inspired by the shells, corals, fish scales, waves, sea shades, the texture of the sand, little mermaid and sea horses. This season you can be a true Sea Queen.

This season I want something dazzling inside my closet. 

::Smells Like Teen Spirit::

Do you remember the flick "Empire Records"?, the story is silly but I love watching the clothes. Oh, my ... how can we forget the grunge style of the 90's, when everything matched with everything; flannel shirts, washed jeans, tomboy spirit, Converse's sneakers, Doctor Martins’ boots, messy hair without makeup... So ironic, I started thinking: "Did we really wear that!?" ... oh, yes we did!
So, I started looking for images and felt inspired.
I'm leaving you a little research I made and later on, I will publish the final result of my secret project!

Algunos recordarán la película “Empire Records”?; la historia es un poco tonta, pero me encanta ver la ropa que usaban. Oh, Dios… como olvidar el estilo grunge de los 90, cuando todo combinaba con todo; la camisas a cuadros, jeans lavados, el estilo masculino, los converse, las botas Doctor Martins, el pelo despeinado y nada de maquillaje. Es tan irónico, ahora pienso:
“ De verdad, usábamos todo eso?... oh, si, lo hacíamos!

Así, que empecé a buscar imágenes de referencia y me sentí inspirada. Aquí les dejo algunas fotos y más tarde publicaré el resultado final de mi proyecto secreto del fin de semana.

I forgot to post this picture I took a few weeks ago. I went to a party at 4centro (a wonderful restaurant/lounge in Milan) and got hypnotize by the Dj's table...  I love bright color, guys. I can't help it!! 

And remember "bold colors" are one of the new Spring 2011 Trends, so I hope this picture will get you in the mood.

My friday night plans were cancelled... so after committing a little "fashion crime" and ate McDonalds for dinner (follow me on twitter, so you can understand what I meant), just decided to stay home and watch a movie in my cozy warm bed.

::Wild Side::

My friend Julissa is an "animal print" fan, literally... she even has a leopard bathing suit!! 

I'm always jealous of how great the animalier looks on her, and always thought I would never be able to wear that kind of print. However, after looking all this season editorials, lookbooks and runways shows .. I started thinking: "why not try it??, at least once!"

First, I decided to start with something simple ... like the scarf I wore for an after party at DM'10. But then, last week I saw a sheer chiffon fabric I couldn't resist ... so I bought it, felt inspired and now I'm making a dress ... it's almost done, so I'll post picture very soon! =)

::A crush for Lace::

 I'm having a crush for lace (fabric, trimming, accessories, etc). 

Last spring was a big hit, this fall some designers showed it as well, and next spring it is going bananas, 

thanks to Dolce and Gabbana. 

So, I felt inspired and went to the fabric store and got some lace to make something for myself, 

I did a very simple but useful little shirt/dress - stay tuned, I'm going post it next- ....

Trend Fall 2010

I've a new project. 

First, I wanted to do for myself... to keep my mind running in some creative way. 

The idea is to created "Trend Pages", "Trend Map" or "Fashion Guides"; where I could put some key items, pieces I like and research images, also Lia (my fashion girl illustration) will be present. I have so many pictures save in my compute and I think this is a cool way to share to all of you...as my dearest teacher from Marangoni, Luca Baccelli used to say : "As stylist and designer, you must have acknowledge of what's going on in fashion; you need to EAT, BREATH and SLEEP trends".... so "Don't worry, Baccelli... I'm doing my homework!!!"

Tengo un  nuevo proyecto. 

Al principio, lo quería hacer solo para mi... y así mantener mi mente activa en una forma creativa. 

La idea es crear "Paginas de Tendencias", "Mapa de tendencia" o "Guía de Estilos"; 

donde podría mostrar algunas piezas esenciales, o que me gustan e imagines relativas al tema... igualmente, Lia (mi ilustración personal) estará presente. Tengo tantas imágenes guardadas en mi computadora y creo que esta seria una excelente idea de compartirlas con todos ustedes... además como decía mi querido profesor de Marangoni, Luca Baccelli: "Los estilistas y diseñadores deben tener conocimiento de todo lo que sucede en el mundo de la moda; necesitas COMER, RESPIRAR y DORMIR con las tendencias"....así que : "No te preocupes, Bacelli... Estoy haciendo mi tarea.
