::DM'12 - LA MAISON 1888::

We like to party like super stars!

During Dominicana Moda, our national fashion week, I was invited to Brugal's Party - Maison 1888. Hosted by fashion magazine Factoria, fashion blogger The Hippie Nerd, PR Maneger Stefano Cavoli and designer Jacqueline Then

I decided to wear this jazzberry jam dress I designed and custom made a couple of years ago when I was in Fashion School. Also, I needed to add a statement piece to my "minimal" attire; so Ela designed this beautiful masterpiece to complement my outfit which definitely stood out!

Mission accomplish!

::I WISH::

I wish I could be there right now, drinking piña colada... instead, I'm in my office trying to figure out how to create a iPad App, when I'm actually a fashion designer/stylist! Yes, sometimes it seems like I can do magic. Wish me luck!

::AUTUMN LIGHT::

Are you ready for a change of season? Here in DR, we have a big dilema when with talk about that: "New season, is that really exists?" Well, maybe the temperature doesn't get lower than 22C degrees, and the trees do not start loosing yellow leaves and it doesn't get dark at 4:30 pm ... However, lately I have noticed some changes; last week around 5 - 6 pm there was a "strange" light coming through my window, first I though it was the sunset light and I ran like crazy to see if I could get a cool picture to instagram the moment (btw, are you following me? .. I'm new with this so follow me!) but not, the sky was the same, still the atmosphere was kind of sepia; two days later I was driving and it happened again. I was so upset I couldn't capture it with a instant-picture that I decided to re-create it, and this is how this outfit post was born.
I used 3 light layers to create this look: a pleated dress, a laced blouse and a cut-out blazer; added a studded bracelet to create a cool contrast.

Thanks God, it's friday! Wish you all a happy, happy weekend!

::BACK TO WORK:

Ok, so after Curacao, I came back to reality ... which means: A lot of work!! I have so many projects in mind; for my blogs, for The Key Item Store and of course, my - real - job. Uff... It's a "Make -it- Work" moment!
Last week, I went to Sema Department Store, and I spotted some of the most fabulous - inexpensive- key items for the summer. I'll make the official post this week on The Key Item so stay tuned. In the meantime, here are the pictures of my shopping afternoon.

Uff ...

::Diary of Samaná- Part II::

Happy saturday, guys!
Here is the second part of the pictures from Samaná. On day #2, we went to Cayo Levantado which is an island, to get to there you need to take a 15 min boat ride from the Samaná Port. Once there, you can spend the whole day drinking piña colada and eating amazing dominican food, lay back and enjoy the view. Also, if you are here during February and March, you can see the whales!! I got sea sick so I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted but even though it was pretty nice experience .
On our way back, we went to visit the town of Samaná. The center has these colorful little houses where you can find gift shops, restaurants, banks, bars and small offices.

This is it for now ... I have another set of pictures for next week.
bisous, bisous,
xx

::Diary of Samaná::

Sorry for the lack of post lately, finally I have some time to make this post about my last weekend in Samaná.  I would like to present you a photo diary of this amazing weekend.

Samaná is a magical place, located in the northeaster coast of Dominican Republic (It's THE PLACE TO GO IN 2012 according to the New York Times). The first day, we went to Playa Rincón, which is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean as stated by the UNESCO. After an adventurous 15 mins-boat trip, we made it!! and it was beautiful.. definitely, a place you must see if you come to this island.
The second set of pictures are from Vista Mare, our apartment-hotel. The view was breath-taking and the place was so good, also the staff were very kind with us. The perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of life.

Stay tuned... I have more pictures to show you!
but in the meantime, wish you all a HAPPY WEEKEND! <3

::The Walking Bridge::

Driving around the city with my sister, we saw this new walking bridge. We never walk, a least not in DR, everyone has a car or take public transportation, I think because maybe it's too hot to just "take a walk" ... However, passing through we thought, it would be nice to take pictures up there, where you can see the whole city and the cars pass by just right below you on the main avenue. A very cool new experience... and this is the final result!
